Lysozyme
What It Is
Lysozyme is a protein found in saliva, milk, honey and egg whites. Lysozyme was first discovered by Alexander Fleming, the scientist who also discovered the world's first broadly effective antibiotic, when he realized that his own nasal mucus inhibited bacterial growth on account of breaking apart bacterial cells in a petri dish.
